TWO VISIONARIES
With new work, new projects and the like. The event was well attended, everyone had a great time, and now we have created new collectors and really have proven that our model of exhibiting work does work.

In fact, our event was listed in the prestigious Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine in the calendar section as an event to attend. http://www.phgmag.com/

If you missed the opening, you can see and purchase the work, we still have paintings by Diane and I available for sale.

Kurt von Behrmann at the Prime

I want to thank the owner of the Prime Chinese Restaurant, www.theprimechinese.yolasite.com
During their hours of operation, you can see my work, all of which is available for sale incidentally. This is such a great opportunity in that they have been serving great food in Phoenix for over 20 years, and their restaurant is the perfect space for exhibiting fine art.

What makes this event so special is the support of the owner, and their shared love of contemporary art. This exhibition represents my work dealing with handling the canvas in new ways and really stretching what painting can be. The work shown represents developments that took place over a five year span, perhaps longer where I really wanted to explore form, shape, expression, location, place and the tempo of the times in paintings that are abstract, and some that are vaguely representational.

Solo Show in Glendale
March 2012

VERY excited by having the gallery to myself and the lobby! I suggested lets get the work in a public space. The Owner was really really great. So has the City of Glendale. Business owners really want serious art in downtown, not deocrative.

Artist of the Month for the City of Glendale, Arizona.
Too happy about this news. Right now, even as I write, I am in Glendale at the Gaslight Inn writing and sitting in the gallery of the Hotel. Nice day had a few visitors. I think I need a Guest Book set up here soon.

Wedge and Bottle, The best little Wine and Cheese Place in the Southwest

This place is just amazing, and the owners are extremely nice people. If you are looking for great cheese, great wine, and great art, this is the place to go. It is ...well worth the drive to Ahwatukee.

Check them out online at http://www.wedgebottle.com/

Here is a sample, yes I am showing brand new work, and a few classics.
This show was really great to put together. I am really pleased to have new work out and about and now in Ahwatukee at a great establishment!

Fine Art AT Salon 7000

Sshowing of paintings, constructions at Salon 7000!

The owner, who has been great to work with, really appreciates the arts and I am very very pleased to be able to display cutting edge original contemporary fine art in a business setting.

As our new Phoenix Mayor has pointed out, the Visual Arts are vital to the success of the Valley. I consider them a great "untapped resource."

Plus, I am really please to see a local Arizona owned business support local talent rather than simply have bare walls or put up prints. When Valley businesses desire fine art, that speaks well for the entire area and really enhances the quality of life here.

Two Visionaries

Dianne Sanborn and I are putting together an exhibition on our own! We have joined up to present a one day showing in May. An art exhibition of new and recent work by Diane Sanborn and Kurt von Behrmann. Two Artists showing work on their own from exhibition to creation without galleries, art consultants or other third parties. Two Visionaries is a one-day showing of visionary art that speaks to contemporary concepts in visual art.
By retaining control over the curatorial process, and space to present a broad spectrum of works, Sanborn and von Behrmann are able to share with viewers work that might not been seen in large group shows were artists maybe represented by only a few pieces. In taking total control over content, the artists are able to exhibit work that may be too adventurous for traditional exhibition venues.

Two Valley Visual Artists exhibit their art on their own
